The Irish Life Health National Novice and Uneven Age Cross Country Championships was held at Gowran Park, Kilkenny, Sunday afternoon (December 5th), and Luke Merrigan, first year student, had one of his best races to date.
After placing 34th in the even age groups two weeks ago, Luke knew some of his competitors facing in to this weekend. He ran a superb race, staying up with the lead pack throughout but his fast finish in the last section of the race was enough to secure Luke 2nd place. Luke also led the county team and provincial team to gold. A wonderful achievement for somebody who only joined Leevale AC in the past few months.
