Dear GCC Parents, Guardians & Students,

2023 GCC Junior Cycle Students receive their Junior Cycle Profile of Achievement (JCPA) Certificates

Congratulations to last year’s 3rd Year students who were presented with their Junior Cycle Profile of Achievement (JCPA) certificates today Friday 1 March. The JCPA captures student achievements in a number of assessment elements undertaken over the three years of junior cycle, including the grades in the state-certified final examinations at the end of the three years. It also reports on students’ achievement in Classroom-Based Assessments (CBAs) in subjects and short courses. The JCPA also includes reporting on Wellbeing. Please click on the link below for more information.

Thank you to our GCC teachers, SNA’s, parents and support staff for your encouragement of our students throughout the Junior Cycle programme.

VSware Attendance App

We are grateful to parents for their high level of engagement with the VSware Attendance App since we introduced it in November. Please note the following:

  • The App is now the only way to communicate with the school regarding your child’s absence whether it is a full day absence or partial absence.
  • For a partial absence during the school day, the student must present at the school office to sign out.
  • Once it is confirmed that the absence has been authorised by a parent through the VSware App, the student has permission to leave school.
  • Please note parents/guardians are not required to come into the school reception for collection.
  • Parents who have not downloaded the app are kindly asked to do so as a matter of priority.

GCC Pre-Examinations 2024

Parents are asked to note that just over half of the Junior Cycle scripts from the Pre Examinations in February have now been returned to the school. This will necessitate extending the deadline for teachers to fill n the Junior Cycle reports on VSware.
