GCC Whole School JCT Day

We would like to thank all our staff for their active participation in this morning’s CPD event. The feedback has been overwhelmingly positive and it was gratifying to see so many members of our staff share their expertise with colleagues who in turn engaged so positively throughout the day. Special mention to Ms Mannix, Ms Murphy, Ms Dwyer, Ms Ryan, Ms Keane and Ms Byrne for leading the workshops. Thank you to Ms Madden for organising and overseeing the event. GCC continues its focus on positive learning experiences for our students and today provided the perfect opportunity to see the methodologies that are being successfully used in classes across the school on a daily basis.

UCC invitation to Students and Parents
In Guidance classes, all senior cycle students (TY, 5th, and 6th Years) are being encouraged to attend UCC’s Open Day on Saturday 14 October 2023.
Parents and students do not have to register attendance in advance. However, we do encourage exploring the open-day section of the website. It would be in their interest to plan the talks and events they may wish to experience so that they can receive a comprehensive overview of the courses UCC has to offer. GCC Parents Council bid a fond fairwell to Ms Ger Moloney Sheehan
At our GCC Parents AGM on Monday evening a presentation was made to Ms Ger Moloney Sheehan who has completed her time as Chairperson. We are grateful to Ger for her continuous help and support of all in our school community over a long number of years.
The next meeting of the GCC Parents Council is on Monday 6 November at 7.30pm in Room B20 and all are welcome.

Internet Safety Talk for Parents
As most young people kick back into their school routine, now is a good time to talk about life online and the challenges it poses for so many parents and their families. Join Avril Ronan, Trend Micro Ireland host, parent and internet safety expert who will explore those challenges and the benefits of the online world, when used responsibly. Expect practical advice, top tips, and live demonstrations of popular app settings.
