Dear Parents and Students,

GCC Teaching & Learning Week March 2025

We are delighted to announce that GCC will be holding a “Teaching and Learning Week” from Monday 10 to Friday 14 March. On Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday of our Teaching and Learning week, teachers are invited to volunteer to open their classroom doors and invite other teachers to drop in and see something they are doing with one of their classes.

A teacher might have an excellent lesson starter, revision game or way of explaining something difficult that you think other teachers might like to see. A full timetable of open-door classrooms will be advertised around the school the week before our teaching and learning week begins. We will also be running our second GCC Teachmeet as part of our whole school staff development day on Friday 14 March.

GCC Alumni – Aisling Moore GCC Graduate 2005

Last year we started a ‘spotlight on GCC alumni’ with a monthly post on GCC Instagram. We started with the current eleven staff members who are also former students, the original alumni. It is a lovely way to keep the connections going. With the arrival of the New Year, we have again reached out and invited some of our past students to reconnect with us. We ask past students to answer a few short questions, give a brief account of how their journey since graduating from GCC has been and include a photo or two. Their stories are then shared our GCC school website and the GCC Instagram account [@glanmirecc handle]. Please click on the link below to view the latest contribution from 2005 GCC graduate Aisling Moore:
