School Car Park

Following the introduction of a new access system for our school car park we surveyed members of our school community for their feed back. Parents are asked to note that:

  • 100% of respondents either strongly agreed or agreed that the new car park system has ensured added safety for our students when accessing the school grounds
  • 100% of respondents either strongly agreed or agreed that would like to see the new entry & exit system continue in the New Year

Therefore, the new access system will continue to be operated for the remainder of the school year. We thank all our parents for your cooperation in following the measures introduced.

Supporting the Safe Provision of Schooling (SSPS) Report

Parents are asked to note that the school received this week, the report for factual verification of the SSPS visit undertaken by the inspectorate in GCC back in October. As anticipated the draft report indicated the school is fully compliant with regard to Covid and Child Protection protocols.

Student Absence

A reminder to parents to provide a written explanation in the school journal when your child returns to school following an absence.

Transition Year Pupil Parent Teacher (PPT) Meeting

Parents of 4th Year students are reminded that our 4th Year PPT meeting planned for Thursday 20 January will not be held face to face. As with all our PPT meetings this year to date, feedback will be provided to parents via the mechanism of additional reporting.

Pre-Examinations

Parents are asked to note that it is our intention to hold traditional pre-examinations for 3rd Year & 6th Year students. A final decision will be taken in the coming weeks and will as always be subject to the advice and direction of the DES, Cork ETB and Public Health. While we have previously managed to run timetabled exams (for one year group) based in classrooms, doing so for 2 year group will be logistically challenging and may necessitate the use of the PE Hall or other suitable areas.

We hope you have a nice weekend
