Safe Internet Month

During the month of march our teachers will deliver a workshop to students on Internet Safety in line with Webwise; the Irish internet safety awareness centre. Students will complete this during their tutorial lessons over a 3 week period. The first of these will take place on Friday 4 March. For further information on Webwise and internet safety click here.

2nd Year PPT Meeting Tuesday 1 March 2022

Parents are asked to note that we will continue to use the additional reporting mechanism for the 2nd Year PPT meeting planned for Tuesday 1 March 2022. Given the proximity of the meeting to the mid-term break teachers will be allowed to input feedback up to and including Tuesday 8 March. Parents will then be able to access the feedback on VSware from Wednesday 9 March onwards. A decision around the format of the last PPT meeting of the school year (1st Years on Monday 14 March) will be taken once NPHET and Public Health have updated schools on current restrictions.

Break Time update for Students

When the school reopens after mid-term break we will be returning to our previous system at break times for both Junior & Senior Cycle students whereby classrooms will be closed and students will assemble in their designated areas.

Agriculture / Horticulture

Well done to the students in R.Meabh 6th year who produced and planted lovely window boxes for their Agriculture/Horticulture Leaving Certificate Applied task. Horticulture is an option within the Vocational Education element of the Leaving Certificate Applied. The course is designed to introduce students to the knowledge and basic skills which apply to the efficient and productive use of natural resources. It is envisaged that students will select those areas of study which are relevant to their interests, the local economy and the potential employment opportunities therein.

Student Scout and Gaisce Awards

Congratulations to 5th year Anna O Shaughnessy who was presented with 2 prestigious awards; the Chief Scout award and the Gaisce President’s Award. Anna is a credit to the scout group and they are all very proud of her in the 46th/92nd Cork Glanmire Scout Troop as they are in GCC. Well done Anna!
