Dear Parents,

Covid-19 Confirmed Case

Parents are asked to note that the school received notification this morning from Public Health of an additional confirmed case of Covid-19 in GCC. While we are not allowed to give specific details of any case it is important to note that the case is not in 2nd Year and Public Health have confirmed that transmission occurred outside of the school. A public health risk assessment has been undertaken and any close contacts have been notified and advised as required.

General Letter to Parents – Covid – 19 May 2021

Díogrias

The theme for this year’s Díograis awards is Misneach, which is the Irish word for courage. Once again, we are unable to have a major school celebration of our students achievements due to Covid restrictions but students will be presented with certificates and awards individually in school. The card informing students of their nominations features an amazing piece of art by third year student, Viktoria Hristov (Rang Peadair). The attention to detail is extraordinary and once again highlights some of the amazing talent we have in our college. You cannot help but be inspired by the creativity and endeavour of our young people. Ní neart go cur le chéile!

Agreed Report for the BOM Meeting Monday 17 May 2021

Continuation of Learning Programmes with 6th Year students
Parents are asked to note that 6th Year teachers continue to be available to 6th Year students until next Friday 28 May to provide advice and support for students as necessary. Students should communicate with their teachers in the first instance through Google Classroom to make arrangements to attend school and complete any outstanding projects or coursework or to engage with their teacher online during their timetabled times.

Transition Year
Almost 120 of our Transition Year students received certification for their IACT online courses which, parents might recall, students completed instead of their 2nd week of Work Experience back in February. These students are now certified in Computer Skills, Career Skills and Driving Skills.

We hope you have a nice weekend.
