Rob Walsh, GCC leaving cert student represented Ireland schoolboys U18 on Saturday 18th January. Rob was given the no. 2 jersey, left full back – known for his attacking from this position. Rob had a great performance in the green jersey which should hold his position firmly going into the next competitive international game.
He has represented Munster this year also, competing in the Inter-Provincial competition from where he was spotted and selected for the Ireland team following further trials. It is a great honour for Rob to represent his country and GCC are very proud of this achievement.
The Irish students will have a trial game against Colin O’Brien’s Under 17 select in a few weeks time as O’Connor attempts to whittle the squad down to 16 players for the Centenary Shield fixture at the end of March.
